Fatalism is a philosophical doctrine emphasizing the subjugation of all events or actions to fate or inevitable predetermination.
Fatalism generally refers to several of the following ideas:
That free will does not exist, meaning therefore that history has progressed in the only manner possible.
This belief is very similar to determinism. That actions are free, but nevertheless work toward an inevitable end.
This belief is very similar to compatibilist predestination.
That acceptance is appropriate, rather than resistance against inevitability. This belief is very similar to defeatism.
Someone told me that I'm a loser in my life. I'd be failed on neither work nor study although I thought I could get successed. He told me I am just simple mind and even I put all my effort I could still be a loser. What I can do better is waiting for a man to marry. Is it ridiculous?
It's hard to accept your fate is all loss. I know I should think positive. Firstly, what he told may not be a 100% correct. Secondly, if i choose not to be a fatalist, I should trust the power of free will.
If I think positive, I should
1) work hard and earn as much as $$ I can
2) study in the professional fields
4) rid off all my bad temper and stay cool and calm all the time
3) refuse to accept a proposal too early
If I believe in my fate, I should
1) do nth and wait for a man to marry
2) develop all my earnless interests
3) save $$$
So, should I be a Fatalist?
Whatever the ans is, I know it spoils my holiday totally at the first day and I'm desperated. Thanks for all your assistance. At least, it pushes me to rethink my direction seriously.
